I am intrigued by the colorful images I came across on www.jennikaphoto.com in the Editoral section of her book. I am wondering how elaborate the lighting set up would have to be and what tools in Photoshop would be used in post production. I am a newbie and I'm really wondering what techniques on and off camera were employed here.

I can't tell for sure but it looks like, in the first few shots anyway, light is from a hard source and brought in from from broad angle camera right. That's in addition to the ambient light. The clue is the sharp transition between highlight and shadow. It's tough to tell how large is the light source but I think it's fairly large. Bottom line, I don't think it's too complicated except for the first one. That looks like a studio shot with a large soft source like an octaback or big softbox providing the general light plus the hard light as described before. Check out the reflection of the lights in the blue spheres in one of the shots.

Post processing is tougher to figure out but I think it could be accomplished with selective adjustments to hue and saturation in some of the colour ranges, especially green.
