Night photography is very close to my heart, so when I got to choose this months theme, it's the first thing that came to mind.

It seems many photographers never set foot outside after dark and to me the world at night is a much more fascinating place than during the day.
In fact I am developing an entire body of work dedicated to the world after dark (last night I was out freezing my butt off until 1am shooting).

During my nightly sojourns it is rare for me to see another photographer so this month it's time for that to change!

Bundle up everyone and show us your dark side.... tongue.gif

This month will be particularly great for night photography with Halloween fast approaching so let's see some inventive imagery.
Here's a couple of mine to get you thinking:

Good luck and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for my favourite subject!!

Hmm I saw those pictures on the wall at the gallery opening the other day. cant really explain it but the intentional blur is definitely an interesting effect. not to often do i consider keeping a blurry picture, let alone do it intentionally but those are nice haha

Anyways... about Octobers contest. Was wondering if you would consider extending the deadline by 12-24 hours? it makes no difference to me... I'm working Halloween night so i wont be out shooting... but i think it'd be interesting to see what others might come up with given the chance to go out on the 31st... I'm sure there will be lots of lights and celebrations? without having to rush home for a Oct 31st 12am deadline.

Just something to consider...

See you out there (or maybe not but it won't be for lack of trying cool.gif )

We will be extending this months contest until November 2nd at midnight!
We want to give people a chance to shoot Halloween night. With all the different things going on that weekend we wanted to see the results.

So go and shoot some scary things and load them up. lol.

Great suggestion Syx!!
